Kariano is a half-brother of the Oldenburg Champion mare Jurwina and the Oldenburg State Champion and multiple advanced (S) level winner Doriano.
Sire Kannan has been one of the world's best jumping sires according to the WBFSH ranking for many years. In 2014 he even led this ranking. Kannan himself was internationally successful under Michel Hecart/FRA up to and including the European Championships. Many of his sons were licensed worldwide. Among his sport offspring is the Olympic Champion Nino des Buissonnets under Steve Guerdat/SUI.
The dam Jana by Couleur-Rubin has already produced numerous successful offspring as well as elite auction foals. Currently highly successful are also her Stalypso son Strombuli as well as the offspring jumper Stuart Little by Stakkato Gold.
Oldenburg performance line of St.Pr./El.St. Juliane III.
Kariano celebrated his first successes in novice class show jumping tests for young horses as a four-year-old under Jaqueline Bührmann. As a five-year-old he collected no less than twelve ribbons in tests for young show jumpers from novice (A*) to medium (M*) level. When he was six years old, he already placed in medium (M*) level show jumping competitions.
At the age of seven and eight he won and placed up to the international Youngster Tour under Denis Nielsen. Kariano returned to Garrel at the end of 2022 and continues his career under Kai Thomann.
