The stud of Family Wendeln is beautifully located In the small city Garrel in Lower Saxony, in the south of Oldenburg and in the west of Bremen. For more than 50 years with greatest passion, the two Oldenburg performance lines of Cinderella and Juliane III have been maintained here and numerous licensed stallions, winner- and premium mares as well as sports horses originate from here.
At Stud Wendeln, one attaches not only great importance to deliberate mating, but also to an ideal accommodation of the horses and the best possible sports promotion. The broodmares, all of the highest quality from the two breeding lines of the stud itself or purchased from proven dam-lines, reside in an exclusively spacious and open stable with big windows. During summer they spend their time together with their foals at the pastures, close to the stud. In winter, the youngsters are then housed in a big, airy and bright run.
Gerd Gerdes, a very experienced horseman, is responsible for the horses' welfare. He succeeded the long-time stud director Friedrich alias "Fitti" Hagedorn. Our rider Kai Thomann supports him.
For the breeding products in training, a second stable area with windowed stables, next to the 20 x 40 meters large riding arena, is available. Large outdoor show-jumping and dressage arenas and a walker complete the range of training facilities.
Every summer, the Oldenburg foal presentation takes place at Stud Wendeln - a very popular meeting spot for breeders, stallion-keepers and talent-seekers. Because Family Wendeln is not only well-known for her breeding success, but also for her hospitality.
